How to choose the nozzle of SMT mounter?

As we all know, the SMT placement machines on the market have a variety of nozzles, which are divided into tungsten steel, diamond steel, ceramics, plastic steel, plastic, aluminum, iron, etc. according to their materials. There are round holes, square holes, V shapes, etc. according to shape, and there are many types according to size. How to choose a nozzle is a problem that many new SMT people want to pay attention to. Here I will give you a general explanation of how to choose the nozzle of the SMT Mounter.

Material of the nozzle:
1. Tungsten steel nozzle: tungsten steel suction nozzle is sturdy and durable, but it is easy to turn white. When it turns white, it can be painted with an oil pen, and it can still be used.
2. Ceramic nozzle: The ceramic nozzle is never whitish, but it is brittle and easily broken. Careful use can avoid or reduce the occurrence of breakage.
3. Diamond steel nozzle: sturdy, easy to use, and never whitish, but it is very expensive and not cost-effective.
4. Glue nozzle: when the surface of the material is uneven or sticky, it is suitable to use the gluing nozzle, but the life of the gluing nozzle is not long. It is recommended that when ordering the gluing nozzle, buy more gluing nozzles for spare. When it is worn out, you can directly replace the tip of the glue.
Take Juki KE-2010 series nozzles as an example, 500/501/502/503/504 nozzles are made of metal, and 505/506/507/508 nozzles are made of rubber.

Nozzle size:
The standard specifications of the material, the nozzle specifications are basically fixed. Take Samsung Samsung CP-45NEO as an example, 0805 material corresponds to CN065 nozzle, 0603 material corresponds to CN040 nozzle and so  on. When some materials are not too big or small, and the shape is strange, you need to order nozzles.

Nozzle shape:
The shape of the nozzle has square hole, round hole, V-shape, etc. The custom-made nozzle generally selects a flat suction point according to the shape of the material, some of which are made into extended nozzle, and some of which are drawn into the groove plane of the material; some of them are made into a back shape according to the edge of the material; some of them are made of flat surfaces at both ends, and if the middle is uneven, a bridge should be built; some of them are sticky, and if it is not easy to put the material, some grooves should be made in the nozzle wall, or rubber heads should be made.

Some customers responded that I bought a black material nozzle, didn't I say that it would never be whitish? How is it white now? In fact, this is a misunderstanding. The material of the black material nozzle is black, and the surface is not blackened. Even if the middle is broken, the cross section is also black. Sometimes the surface of the nozzle is dirty, oily, or tin residue It will make people mistakenly think that it is white. At this time, just clean the SMT nozzle.
